Intro to Part 4 (pp. 610-615)
In this section the author talks about what is modern. Modern ear was a revolutionary era where much was explored and learned such as it’s cultural development in Europe and the “Scientific Revolution” was said to have transformed the world. The understanding of traditional Christianity became more common. Modern :population” growth was happening in many countries and Eurasia was covering from the Black Death.

(pp.617-635)Political Transformations
There was a downfall of the Soviet Union or the Russian Empire. I read that the “early modern era was an age of an empire”.  It showed a new globalization and diversity. Western Europe was conquering territories. Europeans were super close to the Americas.

There were many diseases that Native American people died because they came in contact with European and African diseases. After this, the Caribbean islands went away only a little after Colombus “discovered” it. Indians said they were ten times more numerous before the “arrival of the Christians” and before small pox broke out. It is so sad that they were living many, many, years there before the discovery of their lands and they were wiped out upon Columbus’s arrival.

Pretty much, European empires seriously damaged the demographic of Native Americans. They wiped them out and created their own societies. The mines of Mexico also created wealth and commerce.

Slaves were working on sugar- producing estates. Slavery in North America was less harsh than sugar colonies. Many slaves were set free. Color was the only definition status in Brazil.
